CCR ocean diving from Playa del Carmen: rebreather and DPV technical dives on the walls
CCR ocean diving and technical ocean diving: one dive per day for certified rebreather and technical divers. The sites are the walls off Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and Cozumel. You dive on your rebreather or on open circuit, with or without a DPV. In Playa del Carmen the dives go from the shore on a DPV, without a boat.
The sites of CCR ocean diving
- Playa del Carmen: the wall from the shore on a DPV, no boat. $179 per diver per dive; a solo diver $229.
- Puerto Aventuras: $189 per diver per dive, plus the boat, quoted on request.
- Akumal: $249 per diver per dive, plus a private boat for one to four divers, quoted on request.
- Cozumel: $279 per diver per dive, plus the boat for technical and rebreather divers, quoted on request, plus a one-time $498 equipment delivery.
- DPV: your own, or by the rental list: DPV SUEX XK $70 per day, spare battery $40. Rental.

Who can dive
Certified technical divers on open circuit and certified CCR divers on their own unit, within the limits of their rating. Open circuit to 100 m, deeper only on rebreathers. The shore dives on a DPV require the Technical DPV rating and a certification matching the planned depth.
Rules of the day
- Medical: every participant completes and signs the standard Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire before the activity. A YES answer to any question in its final section requires written approval from a physician before diving. Without it the guest does not dive.
- Liability: every participant signs the standard diving General Liability Release and Express Assumption of Risk before the activity. Without the signed form the guest does not dive.
- Shore dives in Playa del Carmen: a solo diver pays the dive price plus $50. Boat dives from Akumal: one to four divers on the private boat; Cozumel: minimum two divers in a group.
- Weather: Cave Ha may cancel ocean diving because of the weather. In that case we may offer a cenote activity at a recalculated price, or refund the cancelled ocean diving in full. Booking terms: Booking terms.
